Seem to have a certain something when it comes to their profiles and rear three-quarters.
I think they may be about a generation ahead of everyone else.
Hmm, Jaguar XE Coupe up next then a Genesis G70 Coupe. Maybe an Alfa Romeo Giulia and a Buick coupe in the mix one day. Acura, Lincoln, and Volvo probably won’t do anything though Lincoln really has every reason to do an AWD TTV6 ‘Stang. Im not sure GM needs something between a new Camaro and a new ATS Coupe. Though Camaro and ATS are pretty track focused at the top end rather than super powered grand tourers.

Sharper lines, but that’s about it.

This car just feels like it should be 4 doors. Just for some reason makes me think photoshop. Just not right.

I always thought this car sits too high... I’m not talking stance it(which is dumb), just a couple centimeters lower.

Yeah completely agree. All the others look more coupe like. That Mercedes has so many redeeming features but the trunk ends too soon. . M6 Coupes/Sedans,S Class coupe, and LC500 though. Lord almighty they are something beautiful.

Outside the class, and I have no idea where that actually sits until I see it. Yeah, I know people will say it competes with whatever and whatever, but until I see the actual surfacing and level of paint application, I can’t guess it.

Something about this just looks bad. It reminds me of a hanging damaged side skirt or fender from the tuner scene days.

I just came here to post pretty Japanese rear three-quaters. Also it looks great in person.
Thanks work for that auto show ticket.

MY 1988, when the template for the “proper” coupe design was introduced...

I think the Lexus RC looks really great...from about 50 feet away. Once you get up close to it, there are too many aggressive angles and creases and it just kind of ruins it. I had the “pleasure” of doing a paint detail on one a few weeks ago and it was a total pain in the ass to clay/wax/polish because of all the obnoxious angles.

I disagree. They’ve got more stuff - vents and crap. But they aren’t better.
The rear quarter windows are a perfect example. They’ve padded it with some body work, but it looks like the designer’s hand slipped. Compare it to the clean, smooth shapes of the Audi and BMW - the Japs are more interesting, but not better.

Never said better, simply a generation ahead. Definitely think the next M4 will go in the same direction. I like looking for upcoming trends, it keeps models from looking dated when youre stuck buying them 4 years used.

In terms of the window they certainly won’t. Other aspects, perhaps.
Looking for future trends is good. In this age I think it’s scary, I think Lexus and Jeep are pushing the envelope too far into ugly territory, and I’m scared others will catch on.
